Two designs that I like. Maybe the same person did both of them since Scepter owned Wand.

In 1964, Maxine Brown recorded her most succesful Wand release "Oh no not my baby". This must have done quite well in the UK, since it's been covered by the likes of Rod Stewart and Manfred Mann, who both had sizable UK chart hits with the song. Not wanting to waste any potential success, Wand then paired their two biggest stars (Chuck and Maxine) together to record a series of duets which also fared well on the charts. And then came the BIG one...the single Wand release that most likely paid for all the later flops the label would have. The Kingsmen's "Louie Louie" reached number 1 in the top 100 - Wand's only chart topper.

Brother Gene, i love this...Mannnnnnn there are thousands of labels out there....LOL
This is my kinna stuff for sure! Nice Gene!
Right Brotha Sole, there are 1000`s. But only a couple dozen that have special meaning to me. As a teen I spent hours at a time playing my 45s. At one time , I even wanted to be a DJ on radio. I spent hours practicing. Introducing the songs and cueing them up so they would start as soon as i stopped talking. I remember I had to hold the turntable still to do that. LOL A few times I even got one of my sister to do the news and weather breaks. Seems like all my favorite song were on 10-20 labels. So i saw those labels a lot. Seeing them again takes me back to those days in my bedroom playing Radio annoucer . Am I sentimental....or what? < Howls>
I love these kind of stories....LOL. Yep, you are sentimental and that's the best way to be. I'm trying to find this one label that will trip you out....LOL. I also thought about bringing out all my 45's and taking pics holding them....LOL
That's priceless...especially the use of your sisters as news and weather girls...lol!

Quincy Jones is thoroughly entwined in the musical background of my young adulthood. A genius of unique quality. I have been posting blogs and music throughout the years and decided to embark on the arduous but satisfying task of gathering some of it to remember the excellent legacy that he left.
