THE SPOOK WHO SAT BY THE DOOR:
In the early 1970's, the film "The Spook Who Sat By The Door," premiered, the film was about-the CIA accepting applications from blacks, expecting blacks to fail the exams. When one black man (Freeman) passed the exams, they were shocked.
In "espionage," lingo, spook is defined as: CIA agent. After passing the exams, agent Freeman was enrolled it an elitist espionage program. He learned all the techniques involved with intelligence, went back to the ghetto, and taught the neighborhood teenagers how to commit sophisticated heists.
Despite good reviews and solid box office numbers, this film mysteriously vanished from movie theaters after one weekend, never to return.
