This Is My First Poem In Nearly 3 Years, Inspired By Marvin Gaye's Inner City Blues
Hopefully This Will Be My Comeback Of Sorts. Can't Say That I Will Keep On Writing
Because Right Now I'm Just Not Feeling It Like I Use To, But When I Heard The Song And
Saw The Visuals In The Video, I Knew I Had To Do Something....LOL

GHETTO CITY BLUES (MAKES ME WANNA HOLLER)

Life In The Streets Is Not a Piece Of Cake. Can a Brother Get a Break While His Life Is At Stake....

Subpar Housing, Crime Infested Streets, Life Is Not So Amazing, When All You Hear Is Guns Ablazing....

(ALL I CAN SAY IS)

GHETTO CITY BLUES (MAKES ME WANNA HOLLER)

Drugs Running Rampent In Our Cities, Recession Hovering Over Us Like a Dark Cloud, Unemployment Is At a All Time High. What Can You Do, But Throw Your Hands Up And Sigh....

Babies Crying, Fathers And Mothers Are Dying, And If It Isn't The War, It's The Coldness In These Cruel, Bitter Streets. Life Will Cease To Exist, Because Your Soul Cannot Compete....

(ALL I CAN SAY IS)

GHETTO CITY BLUES (MAKES ME WANNA HOLLER)

5th & Ward, Broken Bottles, Broken Dreams, Hood Mentality, It All Seem So Extreme, But That's The World We Live In....

Maybe Someday It Will All Change And Then The World Won't Be So Strange. Until Then....

(ALL I CAN SAY IS)

GHETTO CITY BLUES (MAKES ME WANNA HOLLER)

The picture you paint so real, however you soften the bleakness with the ever present "maybe" if the maybe is present then there is always hope. Bravo to you my friend.
By the way you say " I ain't feeling it like I used to" BUT then you say "I HAD to do something"...inspiration equals creativity that will not be denied my friend!
