During The Summer Of 1984, New Edition Came To Chattanooga, Tn. For A Concert At The Memorial Auditorium. Michael Bivins Was Unable To Attend Because He Had Hurt His Knee A Couple Of Nights Earlier, So A Call Went Out For A 5th Member Of New Edition For The Chattanooga Engagement.

Radio Station Jet94 Sponsered A 1 Day Contest To Pick The 5th Member Of New Edition And Guys Throughout The City Showed Up To Audition, But In The End, 17 Year Old (SHELLEY "SOLEMANN" KING) Was Picked....ROFLMBO

It Was A Great Show And I Fitted Right In With Ralph, Bobby, Ricky, And Ronnie As You Can See From The Above Picture...ROFLMBO.

Many Years Later During The Spring Of 2009, I Was Surprised To Get A Phone Call From A Manager Of New Edition, They Were Doing A 54 City Reunion Tour Featuring All Members Of The Group, But They Needed A Replacement For Johnny Gill Who Had A Previous Engagement, They Had Remembered Me Filling In For Michael Bivins 25 Years Earlier....ROFLMBO

We Had So Much Fun On That Tour....SMILE/ROFLMBO
