The Top 10 Countdown Of The Forgotten Music Stars Of All Time....Number 1 On The List
SOLEMANNKING...ROFLMBO
Although SoleMann was never a Major Music Star, he was well known throughout the south from 1958 to 1962. He had 1 album titled "Come and Get Your Sole" which was released in the spring of 1958 and was well recieved throughout the south...
The Album contained 12 songs, most of which was written by SoleMann himself, but the one song that generated heavy airplay, was a song that was written by Fellow Chattanooga, Tn. natives Arthur and Richard Brooks of The Impressions titled "For Your Precious Love"
Your precious love means more to me
Than any love could ever be.
For when I wanted you,
I was so lonely and blue,
For That's what love will do
And darling, I'm so surprised,
Oh, When I first realized
That you were fooling me.
And darling, they say that our love won't grow.
But I just want to tell them they don't know.
For as long as you're in love with me,
Our love will grow wider,
Deeper than any sea.
And of all the things that I want,
In this whole wide world, is
Just for you to say that you'll be my girl.
Wanting you, I'm so lonely and blue.
That's what love will do.
SoleMann had a Unique Falsetto Singing voice that was so good and so angelic that he made that song his...LOL
We tried looking everywhere for the album cover, but all we could find was the high school yearbook picture up above that he used on his Album Cover, if anyone can find that cover, please share it with us....ROFLMBO
And that concludes this edition of The Top 10 Countdown Of The Forgotten Music Stars Of All Time, i'm Walt "Baby" Love and it's been my pleasure taking you through this journey....PEACEEEEEEE
Hey Bert, i'm doing ok...Sorry i have not been around much lately, my computer crashed a few weeks ago, so i'm on my Girlfriends computer and it's been shared 3 ways....LOL. Glad there is one here though....LOL
At first I thought that was marvin Sapp, the former football player singing that song. :) And I agree, Ruben didn`t come anywhere close to Al Green`s version. But , at least he had the guts to try.
Quincy Jones is thoroughly entwined in the musical background of my young adulthood. A genius of unique quality. I have been posting blogs and music throughout the years and decided to embark on the arduous but satisfying task of gathering some of it to remember the excellent legacy that he left.
