Just when I was giving up on this new generation of singers. I stmble across this guy. This song is 2 years old, but I`m just now hearing it. But, no budget to make a video? What da heck?

I am listening to Robin Thicke`s :Lost Without You" again. It`s funny how 8 years later I can hear the song in an entirely different light. It DOES remind me of 'Out on the Ocean'. It just took my ears 8 years to reach the sophistication of yours Edie. LOL

Having just come from watching you groove off of Bustin' Out...I hear ya...lol

Ok, we are on the same page. There is certainly nothing very original about the music. Its a simple track. But I like the way the bass drops in and out while the lead guitar ( sounds acustic ) maintains that soft groovy lick. Combine that with this guys voice, and it just caught my attention when I heard it. I`m just a sucker for a heavy bass line....what can I say? lol

I wasn't comparing voices...just the background music. To me there is no comparison in the voices..K'Jon blows Thicke out of the water. You don't hear that it's the same music? No problem. For the record, I like the K'Jon version...alot. ♥

I`m not sure if he is a song writer. Maybe he just records what the record company tells him to. Usually when people are just starting out, they don`t have much say. Ok, I just listened to the track you posted. I don`t think its a clone at all. No more so than the other 100`s of tracks that come out every day. This guy K`Jon voice sounds 100 time better than Robin Thick`s to me. But thats what makes music so special, we all process it in our own way. I respect your opinion, but we gonna have to agree to disagree on this one. Love ya, :)~

Nice..but he is sampling Robin Thicke's "Lost Without You"...same music, re-worked. No originality here, sorry to say. This is one of Chicago's Stepper tracks.

I ain't mad at him though--he did a nice job.

Radio stations thoroughly overplayed Thicke's song which came out 3 years ago. Just like John Barsfield mentioned in his blog, too...since it was a hit, someone found a way to capitalize on a copycat version. Here's the one thicke did in 2006:
