That's good to heat Mama Edie. I don't get here often but when I need to cool out to some smoove grooves I stop on in lol. I'm glad to see this page still up. It's OG status now.
Ms. Antoinette, Ron Cuzner indirectly had a great influence in my jazz listening. On spring break one year my best friend and I drove to Chicago to see snow. (Neither one of us had seen snow) and we saw friends in Milwaukee. I was sorta into jazz, but I had not gotten past CTI, but he kept talking about Cuzner. I would sit with him and many friends and listened for the few nights that we were there. We went to the record store, and he picked out about 10 albums I had to have, ranging from Kinda Blue, Koln Concert, to John McLaughlin. It was a great start. He kept in touch and would send me lists of "Must haves" and he was a great mentor. Sorry you lost all your Cuzner stuff. Do you have any playlists?

Hello there Mama Edie. Had to pop my head in and see how you are doing. Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Hey there Mama Edie! Hope you have been well. Haven't been here since the beginning of the pandemic. Just wanted to stop through and check in. Have a blessed week.
All I can do is hope for the best. I want my father to be able to see retirement. Yes, we've been through alot throughout the years and we are still here. You know I got nothing but love for you mama Edie. Sending you and yours BIG BIG HUGS AND LOVE. Love you Mama Edie!
Yeah, I havent been doing alot of social media at all. Ive been down about my fathers health. Its been worrying me alot. Its been hard to focus on other things sometimes. I was listening to some oldies the other day and thought about you. I was wondering if you were still online. Its really good to see you Mama Edie. Much love to you.
Forgive me for dragging this out, but I rarely get this mental stimulation anymore. Every pet dog on the planet evolved from the wolf. And yet there are still wolves around. If we hadn`t taken steps to conserve wolves apes, whales, polar bears, tigers, elephants, pandas, eagles and other animals, they would have followed dinosaurs into extinction thousands of years ago. That`s the only reason they are still around. One thing I learned about evolution, it`s a slow process. The earth was formed over 4 and a half billion years ago. Man, as we know him, has only been on earth for 200,000 years. We are still evolving. Love ya, knight
I don`t knock what anybody believes, but I believe in evolution. I think we all evolved from apes. We have different skin color and characteristics based on how close to the equator we were located, among other things. I also have no doubt that some blacks may have some Indian blood. But more often than not, it`s white blood. I just don`t see blacks and Indians hooking up during slavery time. But I`ll be he first to admit I don`t know anything for sure, I just have opinions., and as you can tell, I love to express them. lol And by the way, you are a beautiful woman, no matter what you are mixed with. :) Take care.
Edie, I think you are right. This ancestry stuff is not worth the money unless you have been told "you got a little Indian in you". I accept that I am the descendant of slaves, and am proud of it. Not many races could have endured what we have and are still standing tall. And I still love that slave food called 'chitterlins". But now I eat it because I want to, not because I have to. Pass the hot sauce please, it`s that time of year. I am all about tradition. These young folks don`t know what they missing. lol
Just dropping by to say Hello to my old friend. I hope life has been treating you well. I was being nosey , but I read some remarks about Ancestry.com. My skin is black as night and there is no doubt where I come from, but since the costs of doing a DNA study has come down to $59, I am considering getting mine. And every black person that claims to be part Indian should get one too. Ok, I was just being funny. You take care, Knight

Yeah it has to be a browser thing. Your playlist is automatic on my end. Thank you for your response. Is the Legacy Version of Ancestry available at any local library? And do I still have to pay?

Hey mama Edie. Did you leave me a response? I am having trouble finding it.
Hey Mama Edie!. Hey I wanted to ask you about your experience with Ancestry.com. Im wondering if I should go ahead and give it a whirl. Im been trying like hell to research my family tree and gain access to documents and I have no idea where to start. My uncle has provided me names and dates of relatives on my grandmothers side going back as far as my great great grandmother but thats where it stops. The more I research the issue of the slave trade and what went on in that era the more I question how true it was. I dont believe we all came from slave ancestry like we've been led to believe all of these years. Plus, its now come out that history has been taught to us in reverse and that alot of Blacks in America may be indiginous to this continent. The reason I bring this up because I was told by my uncle that my great great grandparents were not slaves. They were free and possibly dark skinned Native Americans. But I wont know that until I gain access to the documents. How reliable was Ancestry to you?
Quincy Jones is thoroughly entwined in the musical background of my young adulthood. A genius of unique quality. I have been posting blogs and music throughout the years and decided to embark on the arduous but satisfying task of gathering some of it to remember the excellent legacy that he left.
