Her eyes were jewels of immeasureable beauty,

Pure--like peering into marbles from heaven,

Kaleidoscopically changing to match the

colors of paradise..the "Eden of Blue Island"

where she was born.

The softness of her skin exuded delicate calm,

as I inhaled her newness.

It was the scent of a 'beginning',

like new-- sweet translucent

petals lighting gently upon my love and

like precious snowflakes

finding solace on a quiet winter's eve.

As I cradled her in my arms for the very first

time--motion surrounding me came to a halt

and my existence melded with her's..

like 'oneness' smiling back at itself.

Her hair was soft and ruddy, tinged with

the glow of a setting sun spreading it's

veil on the arriving moon's blazing,

and the starlight's shimmer.

Like alabaster.. freckled with hints of ruby

were her little cheeks, and her tiny lips

beckoned the dawn of many smiles, as her lashes

would wave to tears that would surely come and go.

She was my baby girl, now a woman with children

of her own. Our journey began with a love

that only God could translate..and our heart's

decipher--and how thankful I am--that she's mine.

Quincy Jones is thoroughly entwined in the musical background of my young adulthood. A genius of unique quality. I have been posting blogs and music throughout the years and decided to embark on the arduous but satisfying task of gathering some of it to remember the excellent legacy that he left.
