We were strangers when we met,
Only half alive, both trying to forget
The lonely nights that seem to have no end;
Afraid to love, or trust our hearts again.

And yet I knew
In the way your eyes searched mine,
You still had hopes,
That one day, some true love you'd find.

I bowed my head,
Not wanting you to see
The turmoil in my soul,
That you had stirred in me.

Then suddenly I was holding you in my arms,
And reason gave way to madness,
In the warmth of your charms.

With just a kiss,
You healed my emotional scars,
And made of me a giant,
With my head above the stars.

And then a strange thing happened,
That occurred within our minds;
As one, our thoughts had blended
In a moment of endless time.

But for that tender insight
What a price we had to pay;
For fate was cruel, and broke the spell
Before we could find our way
