Ok , it looks looks I`m the only one that didn`t know Smokey tried his hand at movie making.

In August of 1977 he produced a Black Exploitation movie called Big Time....using his own money.  Ouch!!

My search for this movie has so far been fruitless.  I wanna see it.

"Inspired by BERRY GORDY'S film success, SMOKEY believed he could be a movie mogul too so he found what he thought was a decent comedy/crime caper script and resolved to film it using his own money. Sadly, the movie bombed with one critic writing "They don't come more small time than Big Time'"! Smokey lost a fortune and steadfastly refuses to talk about the project and he's not even that
enthusiastic about the music. The sound track, though, boasts some pretty ballads –notably 'So Nice "To Be With You' and an energetic main title theme featuring some nifty guitar from WAH WAH WATSON."  Below is pictured the Soundtrack album.

I`m kind of thinking this album might be rare and worth something some day.  You better hold on to this one Sole!  :)

There is a new show on TV1 honoring Black History Month.  If you haven`t seen it, you might want to check it out.
