CAR WASH FACTS

Music Just Aint The Same

It's too bad the music these days sounds like the same old junk!!! I remember music from back in the days songs would have like a good minute to a minute and a half instrumental intro building you, as the listener, up to anticipate the soft melodic sounds of their lyrics. What happened to the originality of music these days? What happened to the songs that made you feel what they were singing? What happened to actual bands with instruments? Hey, at least we have memories of how it used to be… Continue

The Miracles...Renaissance Album 1973

Albums like Renaissance proved that the Miracles could still produce even if their leader Smokey Robinson had gone solo. In fact, Smokey was never far away as he was the executive producer of the album, and the song writing talents of Leon Ware, Willie Hutch, and Larry Mizell, amongst others helped them out. Most of the tracks are lush slow Soul numbers such as If You’re Ever In The Neighborhood, I Wanna Be With You, Wigs And… Continue

When I Look In Your Eyes

So many nights have passed

and waved hello

to the entering sun

while fading beyond the stars

and beyond my dreams.

Throughout them all,

I've thought about

your eyes,

and the way they

'told' me things

that my heart needed

and wanted to hear.

I miss those nights.

The feelings have engraved

a permanent place

in my being,

like so many

resting…

Just Like Dreaming..

One of my all-time favorites--(thanks Old school C!!)

Sublime jazzy soul from Twennynine -- a combo that's headed by drummer Lenny White, but which is a really solid group affair overall! Twennynine have a perfect sense of poise…

CURTIS MAYFIELD "Master Of Old School"

"Curtis Mayfield was a genius--an innovator--a MASTER at weaving the 'perfect' musical backdrop for what we enjoyed back in the day, particularly in the film genre. Can you imagine the Blaxploitation flicks like SuperFly without his…

The Inimitable Me'Shell Ndege'Ocello

...born michelle johnson in 1969, me'shell ndegéocello spent the first years of her life in germany. the daughter of a devotely religious mother and a strict military father, the family relocated to virginia in the early 1970s. though discipline prevailed in her home life, her father's occasional gigging as a jazz saxophonist provided her an…

May This Be Love

Waterfall

Nothing can harm me at all

My worries seem so very small

With my waterfall

I can see

My rainbow calling me

Through the misty breeze

Of my waterfall

Some people say

Day-dreamings for all the

Lazy minded fools

With nothin else to do

So let them laugh, laugh at me

So just as long as I have you

To see me through

I have…

Your Smile

I took my walk around the square today

feeling a sense of

renewal and ease

I noticed the children

as they ran and played

as I strolled

holding hands with

the breeze.

My thoughts sauntered lazily throughout

my head

as my senses

inhaled sights and sounds...

I smelled popcorn

and chinese food

flowers

and soft rain

as…
